Converting a 110V AC American Device to a 220V AC Turkey Device
The device I bought from America burned as soon as I plugged it in!
Mains supply at 220V voltage and 50Hz frequency has become a standard throughout the world. All devices produced are produced in compliance with this operating voltage.
Almost all of the American continent has mains supply varying from 110V, 115V, 120V, 50Hz, 60Hz. Therefore, the products produced in these continents are also produced according to this operating voltage.
Sometimes devices are equipped with a 110V - 220V switch, which can only be selected with the help of a screwdriver tip. It is possible to operate the device on which it is placed anywhere in the world.
We repair and transform your device!
Sometimes we buy gifts when we come from the American continent. Coffee machine, baby toys, small household appliances... Sometimes medical devices, laboratory devices, adapters that are not available in our country... When we bring these to our country, we need to adapt them by reducing the mains voltage with a 220/110 transformer in order to operate them. Otherwise, the device will be damaged.
However, these converters may not be costly and practical products. While it is an easy process for a computer adapter that draws a few amperes, it is an expensive and impractical solution for devices with heaters and motors that draw current at levels of 5A - 10A.
Another way, other than using a transformer, is to replace/convert all the components inside the device. As Benk Instruments, we have adapted dozens of devices to our country's operating voltage so far.
How do we do it? For example, you have a coffee machine. It works with 110V AC voltage. We adapt the electronic card in the device to be 220V and replace the resistor inside with a 220V one. We also replace the device cable end with the plug input of our country. In the end, you continue to use the device as if you bought it entirely from Turkey.
